Quality

From the tree to the shelf

Quality is our number 1 priority. The group’s Quality Controllers regularly inspect all batches of fruits at the various stages of production.

A first evaluation is made at the harvest stage . There is a systematic sugar level and firmness tests and a look at the features of the product (size, colour and general quality).

As soon as the cold chambers are opened further tests on sugar and firmness are carried out because all throughout this entire process the apples continue to mature with a slight and gradual decrease in sugar and firmness . All of these tests provide essential information such as assessment of quality defects and determination of the suitability for the storage as well as what packing orientation should be taken.

Later during the packing stage there is constant monitoring of the external quality of the fruit (grade, colour, size, sugar, firmness) and the finishing touches (packaging, labeling, pallets). All these extensive checks to ensure that the product meets the specification of the customer. Moreover this is an ongoing process as each individual customer specification is regularly reviewed.
